Extended Discovery Period Extension
Extended Discovery Period: 48 months
If the Insured cancels or chooses not to renew this insurance, or if this insurance is cancelled by the Insurer for any reason other than non-payment of premium and/or non-cooperation and/or fraud and/or dishonesty, the Insurer agrees (subject to the existing aggregate Limit of Indemnity and subject otherwise to all other terms, conditions and limitations of this insurance) to indemnify the Insured for Claims first made against them after the expiry of this Insurance and which have been notified to Insurers in accordance with terms and conditions of this insurance and within the Extended Discovery Period stated above, always provided that the incident which results in a Claim occurred prior to the expiry date of this insurance.
Notwithstanding the above, this benefit is only available if: (I) the Insured completely and immediately ceases any professional work (the ‘Insured’s Profession’) due to retirement, death or permanent disability only; and (II) this is declared to Insurers in writing, within 30 days of such cessation. Any Extended Discovery Period benefit will cease immediately if the Insured subsequently arranges any other similar and/or related insurance with the Insurer and/or any similar and/or related insurance coverage with any other Insurer and/or indemnity provider.
Activity Exclusion Endorsement
This policy only provides cover for General Practice Nurses who are providing General Practice Nurse activities, subject to policy terms, conditions and limitations. For the avoidance of doubt this policy does not cover any Claim, Loss, Occurrence, liability, cost or expense, or Defence Costs and Expenses arising out of and/or relating to any services provided in the following areas: diagnosis, prescribing, pre-natal, pregnancy, maternity (other than general preconception advice solely), obstetrics services, obstetric care and/or scanning, out of hours services, emergency helplines, walk in clinics and/or settings, Local Analgesic Infiltration, mole mapping and/or any Advanced Practice Nursing activities.
Licensing Body Investigation Costs
We will, inclusive within the Limit of Indemnity, indemnify You for Defence Costs and Expenses incurred with Our prior written consent in the defence of any disciplinary proceedings against You by a Licensing or Regulatory Body arising from Your Profession and notified under insuring clause i). Medical Malpractice. Cover for Defence Costs and Expenses under this Policy will be limited to €50,000 in any Period of Insurance.
